Ancient Chestnut
Ancient ChestnutThis tree is an American Hemlock that was killed in the 1920’s by the chestnut blight. It is still standing today as this beautiful snag because chestnut wood is so resistant to rot. All the carvings made in the wood over the last 100 years are cool to look at.
